Kindernothilfe Foundations have been established in Austria and Switzerland. Both are committed to achieve a world in which children and young people can live a life of human dignity, develop their talents and together with their family and community take their development into their own hands.
Kindernothilfe Austria
In 1996, Kindernothilfe Austria was founded with the aim to create a better future for as many children as possible. It supports long-term projects, which are permanently funded by foster ships. The idea is that foster parents sponsor one needy child and his or her social environment. Meanwhile more than 30.000 Austrians support the projects of the Kindernothilfe Austria - more than 1.700 have taken over a foster ship to support a child and his or her community.
Kindernothilfe Switzerland
Kindernothilfe Switzerland is committed in helping those children who do not only suffer from poverty but also from exploitation and social marginalisation. As such, the focus is on helping to self-help because only those people who are able to help themselves will be able to enhance their situation in the long-term. Kindernothilfe Austria lobbies for every child to have a secure home, be cared for, and to have access to basic health services and education. In cooperation with its local partners, Kindernothilfe Austria implements long-term projects in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe supporting 300.000 children.
