Join millions worldwide as they Stand Up and Take Action against Poverty and for the Millennium Development Goals

This year again there will be a world-wide Stand Up event on the International Day of Poverty Eradication, on 17 October. The Stand Up is organised by the UN Millennium Campaign. The activity day under the motto "Stand up and Speak out" will be held across the world from 17 to 19 October.

Detailed information will be available in time on http://www.standagainstpoverty.org/. Last year, on 17 October, 43.7 million people made their stand against poverty at 6540 events in 127 countries. This year the organisers hope to exceed this number again.

Like in the past two years Kindernothilfe will take part in the 2008 event. We would be happy if again many partner organisations would join us and send us information about what they did. We will be pleased to present details about your activities on the internet.
