Poverty

Combating poverty is one of the central topics in Kindernothilfe's work. One of the focuses in this field are the Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers (PRSPs). Kindernothilfe carried out two surveys on these strategy papers in combating poverty in developing countries which attracted international attention. These showed clearly that child rights must play a more important role in strategy papers for the future. Kindernothilfe is a member of VENRO, the Association of German development non-governmental organisations participating in their campaigns. more

Street Children

Exploitation and violence, abuse and malnutrition, no-one to care for them and no school education. Street children are defenceless. They are discriminated against and branded as criminals. Supporting girls

In many countries girls and women have a hard lot. Girls go to school less frequently than boys and are often the victims of violence. Girls and women often do not have the freedom to make decisions about their own lives. That is why Kindernothilfe and its partners focus on supporting them. Equal rights for girls and women plays a key role in combating poverty. more
