"The hunger and the water are making our children sick.", Sondha, a young mother from Nilphamari, one of the poorest regions of western Bangladesh, says. 90% of Nilphamari's children are malnourished, most of its potable water is contaminated. KNH supports an innovative project giving this area's residents a better future.

For centuries, girls and women have been working in Hindi temples. Doing this, by and by they were degraded to prostitutes. They were talked into believing that this "service to the Gods" was the "holy duty" they had to fulfil. A project in Bangalore rescues girls from a life as slaves to an ancient tradition.

The numbers are alarming: Approx. 25.000 street children live in the city of Manila, 6.000 of them girls. Every day, these children have to face violence, sexual abuse and physical exploitation. In co-operation with the organization Childhope Asia Philippines (CHAP), KNH campaigns for the education and rights of Manila's street children.
