Hospitals in Ica have been overwhelmed with casualties and are still struggling to provide for all of the patients. "Hospitals are lacking plaster and other medical equipment. Clean water and warm clothes are scarce. During the nights, temperatures have plummeted to as low as 7 C " , says Jürgen Schübelin, project-coordinator of Kindernothilfe. Especially young children have been already sleeping when the earthquake hit the area, so they lack warm clothes. Kindernothilfe and its partner Aportes are supplying warm clothes and blankets.
