CCRD together with 14 organizations working in the districts of Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chennai organized a HUMAN CHAIN at Chennai, Tamil Nadu - INDIA on 18th October 2008 between 10.30 am and 12.30 am as part of the STAND UP and TAKE ACTION - 2008 (Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) and to also coincide with the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17.

In the second edition oft the campaigns newsletter, you learn about children in Northern Uganda taking part in the Red Hand Day. There are still 250,000 children used in the wars of the adults. Children and teenagers have initiated the Red Hand Campaign and appeal to old and young to participate. Send your message on a sheet of paper including your name and your town to the UN politicians. As an expression of your protest, place your hand print with red finger paint on it!

In 2007 Kindernothilfe supported 1,075 projects in 28 countries. Through self help groups
and community development projects it
was possible to increase the number of children supported to 566,717. The report contains details about the work during the year 2007 and about the finances.
